At an annual meeting of heads of OSCE Missions to the Southeastern European countries, Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic on Oct. 26 said he was happy with Serbia’s partnership cooperation with the OSCE.

Selakovic said that Serbia paid much significance to OSCE’s field presence, considering that for two decades, Serbia had been hosting two OSCE field missions, in Belgrade and Pristina, according to a release from the Foreign Ministry.

“We are especially proud of the fact that since the deployment of the OSCE mission to Serbia, cooperation has been based on partnership relations,” Selakovic said. He added that Belgrade had been supporting the work of the OSCE mission in Kosovo and Metohija as a visible and status neutral international presence in the Province, which had been operating in accordance with the mandate based on U.N. Security Council Resolution 1244.

Selakovic stressed that Serbia was committed to enhancing regional cooperation and that Belgrade had been actively contributing to resolving of open issues and had been trying to place focus on economic cooperation through the Open Balkan initiative.
