The commander of the Karaburma covid hospital in Belgrade, Ivo Udovicic, stated on Jan. 20 that the hospital was full, and that similar numbers of patients were being discharged and admitted each day. Udovicic told the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation (RTS) that covid ambulance stations and triage centers were under pressure after the New Year's Eve celebrations, and that "pressure is now increasing on covid hospitals."

"Numbers are growing in Batajnica, and the smaller hospitals, like ours, are already full. We don't know what will happen in the forthcoming period. We are entering a critical phase of this wave," Udovicic stated.
