Nebojsa Zelenovic, the chief candidate of the newly-formed We Must coalition ticket, said on Jan. 24 that "the future oppositional candidate for president of Serbia, along with the people themselves" first and foremost expect the opposition to reach an agreement and called once again on all oppositional parties to work toward that goal.

"When it is made clear how the battle should be led, who stands behind it, what the plan is, what the strategy is, how each should be communicated, how [ballot] boxes should be guarded, how we shall all fight together, [this] will likely lead us to a candidate who can decisively defeat Aleksandar Vucic in the upcoming presidential election," Zelenovic told TV Nova S, adding that potential candidates should be presented with an agreement and informed of both the advantages and disadvantages of such a united offensive.

The We Must coalition was recently formed by the 'Action' Open Civic Platform, which comprises the Together for Serbia party, the Do Not Let Belgrade D(r)own movement, the Ecological Uprising movement and 30 local initiatives. It was previously announced that We Must would run in the parliamentary and local Belgrade elections scheduled for April 3, and that the coalition could potentially support a joint oppositional candidate for president.
