Ruling Serbian Progressive Party MP Stasa Stojanovic should give back her mandate because she deceived voters by falsely presenting herself on the election ticket as someone with a Master's degree in engineering, the opposition Democratic Party said on Aug. 5.

"Having checked the library fund of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, we determined that only her graduation thesis is in their database, but not her Master's thesis, which she has not finished yet. Stasa Stojanovic herself shared on social networks that she was near the end of her Master's course and thus confirmed that she had lied to all the voters who gave their vote to her and the Aleksandar Vucic - Serbia Wins ticket," the Democrats said in a press release.

For that reason, the party also called on the president of the Serbian Progressive Party and Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, to ask his MP to resign if she did not do so on her own.
