Winter, electricity (Pixabay)

Because of Elektroprivreda Srbije's inability to produce enough power for domestic needs the company will be forced to import electricity during the upcoming winter season, Demostat said on Sept. 29.

It said that an additional problem was that electricity was much more expensive during winter and that prices would be even higher due to the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic and war in Ukraine.

The reason why the power company is not generating enough electricity, experts have said, lies in the incompetent management of the company over the past several years by party-appointed staff, while Milorad Grcic was director.

The question is will the power company have enough money this winter to buy electricity as well as will there be enough available to buy as a result of the negative effects of the energy crisis that Europe and the entire world face.
