The national Headquarters for Emergency Situations will convene on Aug. 3 to consider all the aspects of the current situation and enact the necessary measures to preserve Serbia's energy stability.
Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut has made an appeal to citizens to use electricity rationally in the coming days, keeping in mind increased consumption caused by the long-lasting heat wave, so that the energy system's stability is preserved.
Macut stressed that the situation in the energy sector is serious and demanding at the moment, primarily due to the extremely low water levels of the Danube and the extreme heat that additionally increases consumption.
According to him, the authorities and competent institutions are taking all the necessary measures to maintain the stability of the power system and ensure regular supply to citizens and businesses.
He urged citizens to reduce the use of air conditioning and other devices that consume a lot of electricity over the next several days, especially in periods of peak consumption, because every individual contribution can be important for overcoming this challenging period with as little consequences as possible.
