The European Parliament's (EP) latest report is unfair to Serbia and its citizens because the EP "continues to think in the spirit of conditioning," Hungarian Fidesz party representative in the EP Andor Deli said on April 28.

Deli, who is originally from Serbia, told Pannon TV that the document, among other things, drew attention to the fact that Serbia still had not harmonized its foreign policy with the EU's, i.e. that it had not imposed sanctions against Russia.

"The European Parliament still thinks in categories of conditioning, and access to various financial sources is primarily conditioned with Serbia's attitude toward sanctions against Russia. Such conditioning really does not serve the purpose of accelerating the enlargement process or reducing distrust in the European Union that has been present for several years now," said Deli.

He pointed out that MEPs from the Fidesz-Hungarian Democratic People's Party coalition in the EP had not accepted that report on Serbia.
