Vladimir Orlic (BETAPHOTO/MILOS MISKOV/DS)
Serbian parliament speaker Vladimir Orlic on Sept. 5 said he gladly endorsed the opposition demand for holding snap elections, adding he would communicate the matter to the relevant institutions.
Speaking to reporters at the parliament hall, Orlic said that important items were on the session agenda, including budget rebalancing, which should enable an increase of salaries and pensions, while some opposition parties wished to prevent this by threatening to block parliament’s work.
Orlic described as “violence” what he called the opposition’s desire to prevent people from receiving higher pensions.
The parliament speaker also said he would communicate the opposition demand to the Government and also the Serbian president, noting he believed it would be good to hold snap polls as soon as possible.
