The leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, stated on Sept. 7 that he was convinced of the election victory of the Serbian Progressive Party and Socialist Party of Serbia, “whenever they may take place.”

Dacic, who is Serbia’s foreign minister, told the RTS public broadcaster that he did not know when or which elections would be scheduled and held, adding that he had no dilemma as for who would win. “Elections are usually sought by parties which have some chance of winning an election; I have nothing against meeting the demands of those who would certainly lose,” he stated.

He added that the Socialist Party and the Progressive Party would discuss whether to run in coalition (on the same ticket) or separately. A part of the opposition is requesting that early parliamentary and Belgrade local elections are held by the end of the year.
