Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated on Feb. 28 that he hoped that “some” solution would be found regarding the Pristina authorities’ ban on transactions with Serbia in dinars, with the mediation of the U.S. and EU.

Vucic told the Serbian media in Tirana, where he is participating in the Ukraine-South East Europe Summit, that the situation for the Serbs in Kosovo who cannot receive their dinar-denominated salaries was “extremely difficult.” “Some solution will be found in the forthcoming days, so that people can live normally,” Vucic said.

Commenting on the elections, Vucic said that the final report of the OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) about the December elections in Serbia did not mention election rigging and that this was perfectly clear “because there has been no rigging.” He added that acting on recommendations of the OSCE was an obligation of official Belgrade.
