Emmanuel Macron, Aleksandar Vucic (BETAPHOTO/SERBIAN PRESIDENCY /DIMITRIJE GOLL)

On April 8, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic arrived in Paris for a two-day visit and will spend his first evening discussing geopolitical and economic topics – namely the defense industry, nuclear energy and artificial intelligence – with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.

According to Macron’s office, the two heads of state will also talk about Serbia’s Euro-integrations and relations between Belgrade and Pristina.

The press release went on to say that Macron will reassert his commitment and full support to Serbia’s EU accession and reiterate that the normalization of relations with Kosovo constitutes an essential part of Serbia’s European path.

April 8 will mark the 20th time the two presidents have met. In Vucic’s opinion, the sit-down may just be their most important talk to date.

The Serbian president will also be meeting with the French minister of defense, the head of the French Senate – the upper house of the country’s parliament – and with members of Mouvement des entreprises de France (MEDEF), France’s largest employer federation.
