Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani had a telephone conversation with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier ahead of the meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (CoE), and called for his support to Kosovo’s admission into the CoE.
She wrote in a post on the X social platform on May 15 that, during the conversation with the German president, she stressed how important the successful completion of that process was for Kosovo.
“I talked to German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on May 14 about Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe. I stressed the importance of a successful completion of this process, so that all our citizens would benefit from the Council’s instruments as soon as possible,” the Kosovo president wrote in the post.
In her words, Kosovo’s membership in this international organization would represent a victory for human rights in Kosovo.
