Montenegro's Defense Minister Dragan Krapovic said on June 5 that cooperation with Serbia in the defense sector was very good, but there’s certainly plenty of room for improvement.

"I believe that the will and opportunities exist on both sides to intensify and strengthen it. The 2024 Plan for Bilateral Military Cooperation has been signed recently, outlining a series of joint activities and long-term projects," Krapovic said in an interview with the Politika newspaper.

Minister Krapovic recalled that the Montenegrin Army troops were trained at the Center for Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Defense in the Serbian city of Krusevac. "We are developing cooperation in the field of military education and military healthcare, as a very important segment of national defense capacities," Krapovic added in the interview.

Speaking about Montenegro's international engagement as a NATO member, the Montenegrin defense minister underlined that, during his term, the country would not take part in the war in Ukraine.
