European Union Spokesman Peter Stano has announced that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo Premier Albin Kurti would meet in Brussels on June 26.

Vucic and Kurti last met on Sept. 14 last year and this will be the first meeting at the highest political level in this year.

The meeting will be taking place within the dialogue on the normalization of relations and will be hosted by the EU’s commissioner for foreign affairs, Josep Borrell, and the European special envoy for the dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak.

Some ten days after Vucic and Kurti’s meeting in 2023, an incident took place in Banjska, in northern Kosovo, when armed Serb groups attacked the Kosovo police, killing one officer. Three Serb attackers were killed during the clash, which raised concerns about security in the region.

The details of the agenda of the two leaders' meeting have not been announced yet.
