The campaign director of the Get Going for Change movement, Savo Manojlovic, stated on July 11 that the Constitutional Court had repealed the Serbian government’s decree that abolished the plan for the Jadar project.

“The decision of the Constitutional Court in case number IUo3922 repealed the Serbian government’s decree on abolishing the Jadar project, which means that it has acted in keeping with Rio Tinto’s initiative. The Constitutional Court has made this decision in a synchronized and prompt manner, in coordination with the political authorities and Rio Tinto,” Manojlovic wrote on the X social network.

He added that, for two years now, there had been no decision on a constitutional appeal over the National Assembly’s failure to act on the popular initiative with 38,000 signatures. “By trampling on the Constitution and occupying the institutions, Rio Tinto and the occupation authorities are preparing to cause civil unrest, similar to that in Papua New Guinea,” Manojlovic assessed.
