Serbia’s Domestic and Foreign Trade Minister Tomislav Momirovic said on July 15 that the free trade agreement Serbia signed with Egypt on July 13, during President Aleksandar Vucic’s visit to that country, will provide competitiveness for Serbian farmers on the Egyptian market.
Coupled with the FTA with China, the new agreement with Egypt will help advance the level of animal husbandry in Serbia, the minister told Pink TV.
Momirovic went on to explain that over 80 percent of domestic agricultural products will be exported to the two partner countries either duty-free or subject to special tariffs – which will be gradually reduced to zero over the course of four or ten years.
The minister concluded by saying that the bilateral agreements also present opportunities for Serbia’s confectionery, pharmaceutical and overall food industry.
