Serbian Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar has said that on Aug. 6, a team of medical experts will be presented who will be dealing with lithium mining impacts on human health in Serbia, if the project goes ahead.
Loncar told state public broadcaster RTS that the team would comprise epidemiologists, occupational health practitioners and other professionals.
“We will present every sort of opinion. Once we receive a proposal, we will first visit the location of the future mine, we will say what and how is planned to be done and whether there will be impacts on human health,” the health minister said.
He asked citizens not to fall for unverified narrative.
“We still have no proposal, but once we have received it, we will consider all aspects of potential threats to human health,” Loncar said.
