The University of Belgrade has dropped in the Academic Ranking of World Universities - also known as the Shanghai Ranking - for 2024, but remains among the top 500 high education institutions in the world, daily Danas reported in its Aug. 16 issue.
In the latest ranking unveiled on Aug. 15, the University of Belgrade is ranked between 401st and 500th place, whereas previously it was in the group between 301st and 400th place.
In 2022, it was ranked the same as now, while in 2021 it was between 501st and 600th place.
Out of Serbian universities, the University of Novi Sad is also on the list and has kept last year's ranking in the group of universities between 901st and 1000th place.
