Office for Public and Cultural Diplomacy Director Arnaud Gouillon said on Aug. 22 that a number of teams should be ready by the end of the year to monitor reports on Serbia in the foreign media and counter false news in English, French, German and possibly Italian.
"In each team there will be several journalists who were born in these countries or Serbs from the Diaspora who were born there who know the language and mentality of a country. For some countries we will have more people" especially for the English and French language spheres, Gouillon said, whose office initiated the project, the Vecernje Novosti newspaper has reported.
He said that "their job will be to monitor everything being published in these languages, and not just in the country, but everywhere that a language is being used by the media, and deny false news or write opinion pieces." "Also they will be able to proactively act by reporting information from Serbia that represents it in a positive context," Gouillon said.
