Public Investment Minister Darko Glisic has revealed plans for a government reshuffle next spring, adding that the Serbian Progressive Party will carry out a thorough appraisal of officials across all levels, including not only ministers, but also general managers of public companies, mayors, and council members.
Speaking to TV Pink, Glisic said that such an analysis would not be premature, as it would come one year into the cabinet formation, which, he said, was a sufficient period of time to have each official’s performance assessed. “Results will be taken as one of the most important parameters. Others will include conduct, work, effort, approach to work and also to the state – all of that will be taken into count,” Glisic specified.
He also said that Prime Minister Milos Vucevic was the most relevant figure to carry out appraisals, noting that he would do that in cooperation with President Aleksandar Vucic. According to Glisic, it would be “a serious analysis of results and downsides that have shown in the functioning of the state, from the local self-governments all through to the national level.”
He stressed that everything would be thoroughly examined and mistakes removed. “We have accountability before citizens. This is not our weakness, but out major quality and our strength. We want to send across the message that we want to perform even better and deliver even better results,” Glisic stressed.
He also commented on the appearance of Socialist Party of Serbia top official Branko Ruzic on TV N1, describing it as a stumble. Glisic added he was expecting from Ruzic party “to demonstrate it has the spine and sanction those behaving in such way, because they are jeopardizing our relations and state policy which we shape together and propagate together.
