Republic MP and vice-president of the Movement of Free Citizens Anna Oreg said on Dec. 12 that a snap election was not the way out of the current social crisis in Serbia, because accountability first needed to be established for the tragedy in which 15 people were killed at the Novi Sad Railway Station.

"Elections are not the way out of this situation, everything needs to be dismantled, every corrupt act needs to be uncovered, political and professional, and then we can talk about elections. This regime tries to extract itself from every crisis by calling elections under conditions that we know well and that is not the solution that we need," Anna Oreg said, adding that the death of 15 people was not an accident and that the cause was corruption.

She added that instead of everything being halted after the tragedy to find who made mistakes and how, all of the companies that directly participated in the reconstruction of the overhang had continued to work on the biggest projects in Vojvodina.
