Resignation of all cabinet ministers and prime minister and setting up a provisional government comprised of experts would be the only way out of the ongoing social and political crisis in Serbia, as no one believed that free elections could be held as long as the electoral process was controlled by President Aleksandar Vucic, Ivan Kostic, the leader of the Serbian Movement Dveri, said on Dec. 17.
He said that widespread “revolt” of university and high school students, lawyers, farmers, and many other groups and professions had pushed the regime into a situation which they had never before experienced during their 12 years in power.
“It is now the time to come together and ride on a wave of people’s revolt, which has definitely frightened the regime, to put aside our ideological and political differences and clearly show that we do not want crumbs off Vucic’s table, but a free Serbia. A Serbia where the students, currently protesting, as well as all other citizens will be able to exercise free will in building their future and will have the opportunity to live and work in their own country without being subject to any pressure,” Kostic stressed.
