A protest called, "The Important Thing Is To Have a Good Constitution" by university students and citizens in front of the Constitutional Court building in Belgrade began on Jan. 12 with protesters blowing whistles to make noise and directing questions at the authorities using a megaphone.

Some of the signs carried by the protesters read: "We know why we are standing still, do you?"-- accompanied by a drawing of the Serbian Constitution, "We are all under an overhang," "Your days are numbered," and others, while numerous students held up their student ID booklets and copies of the Constitution.

The student protesters are demanding that all documents related to the deadly collapse of an overhang at the railway station in Novi Sad on Nov. 1, 2024 be made public and that all attackers on protesting students be prosecuted.

The students of many universities and university schools in Serbia occupied their schools in late November. They do not accept claims by representatives of the regime that their demands have been met and have announced that they will continue their struggle until they are.
