The president of the People's Movement of Serbia, Miroslav Aleksic, cautioned on March 3 that the Asseco company, previously run by Igor Brnabic, the Serbian speaker, Ana Brnabic’s brother, received RSD6.1 billion based on government contracts between 2021 and 2024, and that in most of the tenders the company was the sole bidder.

Aleksic told journalists in the Parliament of Serbia that Asseco, which changed its name to Asee in 2024, secured more contracts through its subsidiary Payten, adding that it had received more than 4.7 billion dinars for different contracts allocated to it before 2020 as well.

According to him, this company was the sole bidder in most public procurement tenders for IT services, called by different ministries, the Serbian Health Insurance Fund, Electric Power Industry of Serbia, Elektromreze Srbije power grid corporation, Serbia Cargo, the Business Registers Agency, the Serbian Post, and many others.

Aleksic also stated that these cases should be investigated by Serbian prosecutors, claiming that "billions of dinars are being siphoned from the national budget through unchecked public procurement processes."

"When you start prosecuting these cases, then maybe this country will be able to say that we have institutions. Instead, the president of the local community in Kriva Reka is arrested," said Aleksic, adding that the head of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, Nenad Stefanovic, only arrests local officials, and only to "pull the wool over your eyes."
