Nikola Tesla Airport (BETAPHOTO/MILOS MISKOV/MO)
The Republika Srpska Government airplane, which departed from Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport at 9:32 p.m. on March 27, landed at the Belgrade airport at 1:20 a.m. on March 28, Sarajevo media have reported, citing information on the ADSB Exchange website (adsbexchange.com) which tracks global air traffic in real time.
According to media reports, a passenger on the plane was Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, who left Israel before Interpol decided to issue an international arrest warrant for him.
Dodik had been attending an antisemitism conference in Jerusalem, and Israeli media reported in the afternoon on March 27 that Israeli officials had suggested to Dodik that he leave the event, after a request from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina that Interpol issue an international arrest warrant.
Dodik earlier announced that he would be returning to Bosnia and Herzegovina next week.
Sarajevo media say that Dodik has the option of going back from Belgrade to Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e. Banjaluka, before a Red Notice is issued.
The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on March 27 requested from Interpol to issue an international arrest warrant for Dodik and Republika Srpska Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandic, on suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of attack on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The decision was made after both left the country illegally, avoiding the legally defined border control procedures.
The Court stressed that the issuance of an international arrest warrant was within the purview of Interpol's National Central Bureau. If the arrest warrant is issued, 196 states and their police structures will be obliged to arrest the two officials if they appear in their territory.
