Ana Brnabic, the speaker of the Serbian parliament, said on May 28 that she expected a session to discuss three pieces of media legislation and the Bill on the child support fund to be held early in June.

"I'm expecting a session in July, too. We need to discuss the shortlist of candidates for the Electronic Media Regulatory Authority Council. I expect we will debate the Bill on a unified electoral roll at the sitting in July," she told the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation.

Brnabic said the process to pick new members of the Electronic Media Regulatory Authority Council was completely transparent and inclusive, adding that "we got 45 candidates out of 177 organizations for the selection of nine members" to the Council. "I'd like to appeal once again against any political influence. I'm sorry that the [opposition] Green-Left Front was the first to come out and criticize certain candidates with no basis whatsoever," she said.

The parliament speaker went on to say that there would always be someone who wanted "to politicize and slow down EU integration even if they say they are pro-European parties, because they will take each success we achieve on the path to the EU as the success of [Serbian President] Aleksandar Vucic and the Serbian Progressive Party, and not of Serbia."
