Partibrejkers rock band frontman Zoran "Cane" Kostic said on May 29 that "courage has not lost its importance in today's Serba - to the contrary, it is becoming more and more present among those who no longer want to be silent."

"Courage is recognized whenever people rise up against injustice, like this youth that traversed Serbia - from Novi Sad, through Kragujevac, to Nis and Novi Pazar. The moment when people greeted them in the streets and on the road shows that courage still has a place in our society," Kostic told the NIN weekly in an interview.

"I only want for all of this to end peacefully. It might sound naive, but I believe that it is possible to sit down, talk and maybe even hug. Sounds Idealistic? Maybe. But freedom is also an ideal - and one that is worth every struggle. Precisely because of that, courage must be recognized, valued and nurtured," Kostic said.

Replying to a remark that the Partibrejkers were popular all over the former Yugoslavia he said that: "We always want to be better and help others be better by being there." "I see a lot of young people throughout Serbia, Croata, Bosnia... who are not poisoned by kitsch. They want a true paradise, not a trash heap. They want to think, read, hang out with smart people... Wherever we go, we are always well received and the respect that we get from people is huge. That is the essence," he said.
