The local community contribution competition They Are Heroes is open until June 22, the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia said in a press release on June 4.
Nominations can be submitted through the onisuheroji.rs website. Once all nominations are in, online voting will open, followed by voting by a commission. "No good deed is small. All individuals who have distinguished themselves in their local community by dedication and solidarity can be nominated," reads the statement by the EU Delegation.
Ten winners will get prizes, including two plane tickets for a direct flight from Belgrade to an EU member country of their choosing. The competition They Are Heroes was launched by the EU Delegation in 2020 to recognize persons unknown to the broader public who helped others and contributed to their local community in the desire to promote the values of solidarity and altruism.
