Miroslav Aleksic, the leader of the People’s Movement of Serbia, on July 15 said that updating Serbia’s single electoral roll would be the top item of the agenda of a round table on July 16, to be attended by representative of the civil sector and opposition parties and university students in Serbia.

“Election conditions is a topic that concerns us all, because we will have to go to the polls eventually, and I cannot not see any reason for someone not to show up”, Aleksic told Belgrade daily Danas.

Aleksic has invited civil sector organizations dealing with the electoral process, including the Center for Research, Transparency and Accountability (CRTA), the Centre for Free Elections and Democracy (CeSID), Transparency Serbia, and civic initiative ProGlas to take part at the round table, noting that some had already confirmed their presence

“It is extremely important that, as soon as conditions have been created, we are prepared to immediately and jointly start work on restoring citizens' trust in the institutions of our country through real, fundamental reforms and on resolving the accumulated problems,” Aleksic said.
