Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Oct. 6 that at the meeting held within the Brdo-Brioni Process in Albania, together with the leaders of other Western Balkan countries, he confirmed joint commitment to European integration and the region’s European path.
“We said that we would work together on EU integration, and established that the European path is a strategic path for all of us,” Vucic told reporters after the meeting.
The Serbian president noted that there were “certain disagreements” between him and Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani. He said that in the Brdo-Brioni Process “there are no states, only names are used,” adding that “this is something that represents a good legacy of the process.”
Vucic said that Western Balkan countries lacked a common approach to solving problems.
“I spoke about that kind of hypocrisy and double standards, where each of us tries to gain something at the expense of someone else, while we have very little in the way of a joint approach to problem-solving in the Western Balkans,” Vucic said.
Participating in the meeting in Durres were Montenegro’s President Jakov Milatovic, members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zeljka Cvijanovic, Denis Becirovic, and Zeljko Komsic, North Macedonia’s President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, and Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani. The participants were welcomed by Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar and Croatian President Zoran Milanovic, as organizers, and Albanian President Bajram Begaj as the host.
