On Nov. 16 German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul began a three-day tour of the six Western Balkan countries and is scheduled to visit Serbia on Nov. 17 and 18.
Late on Nov. 17, Wadephul will talk to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Belgrade. He is slated to meet with Foreign Minister Marko Djuric and representatives of civil society early on Nov. 18, the German Federal Foreign Office said in a press release. Before arriving in Belgrade, Wadephul will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and and Albania.
Wadephul began his tour in Sarajevo, where he spoke on Nov. 16 with the members of the Bosnian Presidency and international community high representative Christian Schmidt. He is scheduled to visit Montenegro and meet with Prime Minister Milojko Spajic and Foreign Minister Ervin Ibrahimovic early on Nov. 17. He will subsequently travel to Albania followed by Belgrade.
Around midday on Nov. 18, Wadephul will leave Belgrade for Pristina where he will meet with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, premier in Kosovo's caretaker government Albin Kurti and the German members of the KFOR mission. He will conclude his tour late in North Macedonia on Nov. 18, after meeting with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and Foreign Minister Timce Mucunski. The German Foreign Ministry said in the press release that Berlin remained fully committed to the European prospects of the Western Balkans and that Wadephul's tour affirmed this.
