Aleksandar Vucic (BETAPHOTO/MILOS MISKOV)
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's and Speaker Ana Brnabic's refusal to meet with a European Parliament mission will inflict huge damage on Serbia's citizens and at the same time Vucic and the Serbian government, Balkans Forward Foundation founder and executive director Goran Miletic said on Jan. 15.
He told the Danas newspaper that nothing positive could be imagined as a result of this decision except the satisfaction of ultraright voters, which, he noted, were not the majority of the Serbian Progressive Party's voters.
Commenting on Vucic's statement that "haters of Serbia" were coming, Miletic said that "any conspiracy theory, especially when compounded with the alleged participation of neighboring countries always harmed Serbia and always reminded the international public of the fact that Serbia has not faced its role in the 1990s." The European Parliament delegation is slated to visit Serbia from Jan. 22-24.
