At a plenary meeting of the two countries' delegations, led by the two presidents, Tokayev said that Serbia was an important strategic partner of Kazakhstan in Europe, and pointed out that some 60 Serbian companies were successfully doing business in the country and that the volume of trade was growing, Kazakhstan's news agency Qazinform reported.
"Serbia is an important strategic partner of Kazakhstan in Europe. We are ready to further deepen our relations and develop cooperation in different areas," said Tokayev, who also highlighted the importance of cultural and cooperation in international organizations.
Vucic said at the plenary meeting that there were many areas in which the two countries could cooperate much better, adding that he wanted to see Kazakhstani construction companies and investors in Serbia.
Officials of Serbia and Kazakhstan signed and exchanged 10 bilateral documents on cooperation, in the presence of the two presidents. Among the documents were a memorandum on partnership and cooperation, two memorandums on cooperation, and seven memorandums of understanding, Serbian public service RTS reports.
Before the plenary meeting, Vucic and Tokayev had a tete-a-tete meeting. Tokayev then awarded Vucic Kazakhstan's highest state honor - the Order of the Golden Eagle.
At the meeting, Tokayev said the two countries shared approaches to important international issues and voiced the belief that Vucic's visit would give a new boost to the friendly relationship.
