Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who is attending the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, talked on Feb. 19 with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva about energy as a pillar of development and the challenges facing the stabilization of global affairs which spill over into the region.

Vucic wrote on his Instagram that he had had a cordial meeting with Georgieva and "carefully listened to useful advice and ideas for solving the burning challenges of today."

"We also discussed digitizing the economy, the rapid development of artificial intelligence and their impact on the labor market. A particular focus was on energy as a pillar of development and the challenges facing the stabilization of global affairs which spill over into our region," Vucic wrote after the meeting.

Vucic previously attended the opening of the Summit and visited the AI Expo, saying that AI was the key to long-term economic growth.

He also said that "Serbia is determined to be part of the fourth industrial revolution." "We have invested considerable funds in digital infrastructure, data centers and supercomputers and are today developing our own, sovereign artificial intelligence models, in the service of citizens and the economy," he said.

Vucic went on to say that it was a great honor for him to have attended the opening of the AI Summit on behalf of Serbia and along with numerous world leaders.

"With India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, French President Emmanuel Macron, and President of Brazil Luis Inacio Lula da Silva at the opening of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, in New Delhi, one of the most important global meetings devoted to the technologies that shape the future of the world," Vucic wrote.
