Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic said on April 22 that the country is well-supplied with fuel and has the largest fuel reserves in the region.

“We’ve doubled our national reserves of diesel over the past three years, doubled our reserves of gasoline, and that is something we will continue to do because it is a strategic decision,” the minister told the RTS public broadcaster.

According Djedovic Handanovic, the stores comprise 550,871 tons of diesel – half of which the state owns, and 127,729 tons of gasoline, of which the state owns two-thirds.

There is also enough mazut for 245 days and enough natural gas fuel and kerosene for about 51 days, she said, adding that this is twice as much as European Union countries have stored.
