Political analyst and consultant Dejan Milenkovic has warned that Serbia’s opposition must not split into too many columns, stating that earlier polls indicated that two columns in addition to the university-student ticket would be a good combination for winning the next parliamentary elections – provided that those three opposition columns collaborate and are committed to removing the regime.

“There is a significant number of voters who want to vote either for clearly declared pro-EU parties or for clearly declared nationalist parties and, for now, that number is sufficient for both columns to cross the threshold,” Milenkovic told the latest edition of the Nedeljnik weekly.

The analyst underscored that the likelihood of unseating the current government drops sharply when the opposition splits into too many columns.

“It is far more important not to allow atomization than to split hairs on whether the anti-regime front should run in one, two or three columns,” Milenkovic concluded.
