Vucic Meets with President of Azerbaijan in Baku

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on May 17 that he discussed relations between the two countries and elevating cooperation in a number of areas with Azerbaijani President Ilhan Aliyev in Baku.

In an Instagram post, Vucic said he thanked Aliyev for "his consistent and principled support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country, and for the loving and understanding attitude that Azerbaijan shows Serbia." "We discussed further advancing the strategic partnership between our countries, especially in the areas of energy, infrastructure and investments, but also projects important to economic development and the secure future of our citizens," the post read.

"We remain committed to strengthening relations with Azerbaijan, relying on their steadfast friendship, common interests and clear vision for long-term cooperation that contributes to the stability and development of both countries," he said in the the post.

On May 18, Vucic is due to take part in the 13th World Urban Forum, organized by the United Nations. Vucic is scheduled to deliver an address as part of the central portion of the Forum, which brings together heads of states and governments. Individual meetings with multiple participants in the Forum have been announced.
