During the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg, Serbia’s Mining and Energy Minister Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic will be meeting with Gazprom Neft, the majority owner of Serbian oil and gas multinational Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS), to discuss NIS’s change of ownership, the RTS public broadcasting service announced on June 3.
Djedovic Handanovic will first meet with Gazprom Neft’s steering board president Alexander Dyukov on June 3, while a meeting with Gazprom Neft CEO Alexei Miller will take place on June 4
The main topic of both conversations will be finding a sustainable solution for NIS – which has been subject to U.S. sanctions over its majority Russian ownership since last October – as well as Serbia’s supply of natural gas.
On June 4, Minister Djedovic Handanovic will, along with representatives of Russia and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), also participate in a panel on the challenges and risks in the global energy sector and the current global energy crisis.
Held from June 3 to 6 under the motto “Pragmatic Dialogue: The Path Toward a Stable Future,” this year’s St. Petersburg Economic Forum involves over 140 countries and 24,000 registered participants.
The organizers have also announced that more than 6,000 business contracts will be signed during the event.
