Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received the credentials of the new ambassadors of Algeria, the Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan, Austria and Germany on Aug. 17.

Vucic discussed Serbia-Germany relations and continued cooperation in the areas of mutual interest with Germany’s newly appointed ambassador Anke Holstein. "It is of great importance for Serbia that we continue regular dialogue at all levels. We discussed Serbia's path to the European Union, stronger economic ties in the future and opportunities to enhance overall cooperation between the two countries," Vucic wrote on Instagram.

During her diplomatic career, Holstein served at the German embassies in Sarajevo and Ljubljana, was ambassador to North Macedonia and served as chargé d'affaires at the embassy in Moscow.

Following a meeting with Austrian Ambassador Enno Drofenik, Vucic said Austria was one of Serbia's most important economic partners and one of the country's largest investors. "Our relations are stable and substantive, and we want to further intensify political dialogue and cooperation in the areas of mutual interest," he added.

Vucic told the newly appointed Algerian ambassador, Moncef Mansri, that the two countries shared a decades-long friendship, forged at important moments in history and based on mutual respect and understanding.  The Serbian president discussed South Korean companies, a more dynamic political dialogue and Expo with South Korean Ambassador Jeong Hong Geun, and said that "Korean companies have recognized Serbia as a good place to invest."

"We are reaffirming the friendship between Serbia and Kazakhstan through increasingly substantive cooperation and regular contacts at the highest level. I discussed this with newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bolat Imanbayev, whom I wished a successful term in our country," Vucic said.
