KFOR: No indication of humanitarian crisis in North Kosovo

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on July 17 during a meeting with NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe Tod Wolters that peacekeeping forces in Kosovo and Metohija, led by NATO, are a guarantor of the Serb people’s safety in Kosovo.

According to an announcement from the talks, Vucic asked that the Serbian chief of staff may at any moment get in touch with KFOR’s commander, agreeing at the same time that the Serbian top military officials also be available for such communication with KFOR. Gen. Wolters agreed that the possibility for a constant and immediate mutual communication should exist as it is important for maintaining stability in the region, which is one of the pillars of global stability.

“He confirmed that KFOR will continue to responsibly carry out all its obligations in Kosovo and Metohija, praising President Vucic for his responsible, wise and composed reactions in crisis situations in Kosovo. Gen. Wolters also supported Serbia’s efforts to preserve stability and expand cooperation in the region,” the announcement added.
