The defense minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zukan Helez, pressed criminal charges on Jan. 18 before the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina against the president of Republika Srpska (RS), Milorad Dodik, the deputy defense minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Aleksandar Goganovic, and a colonel in the Armed Forces Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milan Damjanovic, for “undermining the constitutional and legal order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

Helez said the charges pertained to the celebration of Jan. 9 as the unconstitutional Day of RS, in several counts including undermining the constitutional and legal order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reported the media in Sarajevo. “The criminal charges against Dodik have been prepared very thoroughly, with four barristers having worked on it. It consists of 16 pages, 34 supplements and two CDs,” Helez said.

“Without any tension, my job is to protect the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and there is no national tension there. I would do the same for anyone who attacks the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Helez stated.
