The Administrative Court has rejected the request of Croatian citizen Arien Ivkovic Stojanovic, who has permanent residence and employment in Belgrade, for the deferral of execution of the decision of the Bureau for Foreigners on her removal from the territory of Serbia, on the grounds of her allegedly posing “an unacceptable security risk,” it was stated on May 7.

According to the statement of the Rajic law firm, the court declared in the explanation of the ruling that the request, pertaining to the life and family circumstances and employment of Ivkovic Stojanovic, contained “no evidence for concluding beyond reasonable doubt that the execution of the decision, the deferral of which is sought, would cause damage that would be difficult to remedy.”

Arien Stojanovic Ivkovic has been living in Belgrade for 12 years, she graduated from the Faculty of Medicine there, found employment, got married and has a child aged four. Rajic stated that the Administrative Court had in this way reaffirmed the “illegal and disgraceful decision of the Serbian Interior Ministry” to order, without any legal grounds, the deportation of a citizen of another country, “because someone decided so and phoned the Interior Ministry to execute such an order.”

Rajic stated that Ivkovic Stojanovic would not voluntarily leave the territory of Serbia or voluntarily be separated from her family. “Let them who made this shameless and illegal decision make the final step and demonstrate, by her forced deportation, that fascism had returned to Europe in all horror, in the 21st century,” Rajic added.
