Podgorica Airport

The Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) which took over the Porto Montenegro project in 2016, is one of the shareholders and main partners of the Corporation America Airports (CAA) Luxembourg, which passed the pre-tender procedure for a concession for the Podgorica and Tivat airports, the Dan newspaper has reported.

Namely, ICD became the owner of 25% of the Corporation America Italia company in mid-2017, which runs and holds concessions for the airports in Florence and Pisa. ICD bought the shares through the Mataar holding company which it controls indirectly.

In mid-2017 ICD signed a memorandum of understanding with the Luxembourg company so that they could jointly seize new opportunities in the airport sectors in Italy, eastern Europe and the Middle East.

The purpose of the memorandum is to boost the management capabilities of CAA and use its excellent knowledge of the airport industry as well as ICD’s unique approach to financing and capital markets, SeeBiz has reported.

According to the Dan newspaper ,the biggest chances for receiving the concession is a French-Turkish consortium made up of TAB and Aeroport de Paris (AdP) while the company from Luxembourg company is the so-called “favorite from the shadows.” Dan earlier reported that TAB and AdP had engaged Ana Djukanovic’s law firm to prepare the tender documentation in the pre-qualification procedure.

These two companies along with the South Korean Incheon International Airport Corporation and the Indian GMR Airports Limited company passed a pre-qualification tender for the airports, which seven suitors applied for.
