Unemployment in North Macedonia up 16.7%

In Q2 2020, unemployment in the country rose to 16.7%, according to the latest State Statistical Office data. 

“According to the data of the State Statistical Office, in the second quarter of 2020, the active population of the Republic of North Macedonia totals 953,039, of whom 793,416 are employed and 159,623 are unemployed. 

The activity rate in this period was 56.5%, the employment rate 47.1%, while the unemployment rate was 16.7%,” the State Statistical Office has said.
