Due to the situation caused by the epidemic of the Covid-19, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Serbia has extended paid leaves until Apr. 17, while workers will be paid 65% of their wages during that time, the Kragujevac factory’s union has told BETA.
According to union leader Zoran Markovic, the factory will remain shuttered until Apr. 20, including the Easter holiday.
Markovic also said that when workers will return to work depended on the situation caused by the virus. He said that after Apr. 20, workers would most likely be told to use their remaining 2019 vacation days. The factory’s workers first went on paid leave from March 16 to March 27, which had been extended to Apr. 3.
