Serbian flag carrier Air Serbia had decided to add one Airbus A330, a wide-body aircraft, to its fleet and introduce flights to China in October and to lease one Airbus A320 to establish an air link with Chicago next spring, company CEO Jiri Marek has said.

“Talks and procurement procedure are underway regarding the lease of a new aircraft. It should arrive in Serbia in October this year and should be flying shortly, immediately upon the completion of the standard procedure for adding an airplane to a fleet,” Marek has told portal Tango Six.

He also said that the new Airbus A330 would be of great importance for further increasing the number of destinations and flights served by Air Serbia. As of spring 2023, the new aircraft shall operate flights to Chicago and the long desired seventh weekly air link with New York in the summer, which has not been possible with only one wide-body aircraft in the fleet.
