Strengthening regional cooperation and building a common market of all six economies of the Western Balkans could contribute to a much faster economic growth and to competitiveness of companies, but also to political stability and mutual trust in the region, stated the president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Marko Cadez.

In an interview to the April 18 issue of the NIN weekly, he stressed that it was important that the European Union enabled full access to the common market for Western Balkan countries as soon as possible, on the basis of principles of free movement of people, goods, services and capital, and to the funds that they are not using at this time and, for the companies, the same conditions and status enjoyed by the companies operating in the EU.

Thanks to the Open Balkan initiative, according to Cadez, Serbian citizens are able to be employed in all three countries of the initiative as domestic workers and domestic companies are able to seek employees on a much larger market.

Commenting on the blockade of exports of Serbian goods into Kosovo, he said that such measures by Pristina caused problems not just for Serbia’s businesses, but also to the ones in Kosovo and the entire region.
