A week before his term in office expired, the high representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria’s Valentin Inzko, had decided to push through amendments to the Criminal Code, banning and penalizing any denial of genocide and war crimes and glorification of convicted war criminals. According to the so-called Inzko’s law, which went into force on July 28, a person denying the existence of genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina may be sentenced to up to five years in prison.
