The arrest of former Serbian Interior Ministry state secretary Dijana Hrkalovic has once more shifted the public’s focus to the question of the connection between government and organized crime. After months of announcements that she would be arrested, Hrkalovic was finally arrested on Oct. 15 and ordered held in custody for 30 days.
