The start of the inaugural session of the Serbian parliament, where MPs of the new parliament makeup were sworn in, passed in an extremely tense atmosphere, with whistles from opposition representative and without the election of a speaker. The new parliament is constituted at a time when the European Parliament is likely to adopt a resolution whereby it will ask for an international investigation of irregularities in the December elections and when the EU is wrapping up inclusion of the agreement made in Ohrid in the negotiating framework for Serbia. That will also be the biggest challenges for Aleksandar Vucic’s regime in the coming period.
